Laser cladding is a rapidly evolving technique. In addition to qualitative properties such as microstructure, hardness and resistance to corrosion and wear, this paper describes the quantitative aspects, including comparison with technology such as MIG, thermo-spray and hard chrome.
The publication provides an overview of the state-of-the-art and serves as an aid in technology selection for weld-overlay and hard-facing projects.
