About LCV

Laser Cladding Venture is a technology-driven company specialising in Laser Metal Deposition. Founded in 2015 as a spin-off from VITO and acquired by the SKF Group in 2022, we combine scientific expertise with industrial manufacturing experience.

Our multidisciplinary team of around ten people industrialises LMD applications and provides manufacturing services for customers across different industries. LMD stands for Laser Metal Deposition and belongs to the broader family of Directed Energy Deposition, or DED, processes.

Our expertise goes beyond conventional laser cladding. We use LMD and DED technologies for applying functional coatings, repairing and upgrading high-value components, adding new features to existing parts, and manufacturing complete three-dimensional components through metal 3D printing.

Our primary focus is on repeatable applications with recurring or higher production volumes, where the LMD process can be fully industrialised and deliver consistent quality and value. We also support repair applications when there is sufficient recurring demand or volume for a specific component or use case, rather than focusing on individual, one-off repair jobs.
