LCV specializes in laser cladding coatings. LCV focuses on specialized applications for which it develops technology that gives a competitive advantage.
As part of the Link2Innovate project, we look specifically at the use of forging cylinders for the production of flat steel. The cylinders are highly tolerated in terms of the quality of the coating as well as the degree of finishing.
During the traject, we work together with a company from the Netherlands that specializes in the finishing and grinding of rolling mills. The aim of the collaboration is to set up a complete process for coating a roll with a wear-resistant layer and to process it with the necessary tolerances in terms of dimensions, hardness and roughness.
A second traject involves the development of a hard chrome alternative for hydraulics. Laser Cladding will allow to replace the toxic hard chrome process.
The aim is to develop a coating and post it with grinding or honing.
The aim of the project is again to create a complete process for coating a hydraulic rod with a wear-resistant layer and to reprocess it with the necessary tolerances in terms of dimensions, hardness and roughness.
These projects are financed via the Link2Innovate framework project from the European Interreg Flanders-Netherlands program (www.grensregio.eu). Interreg Flanders-Netherlands stimulates cross-border projects for smart, green and inclusive growth, from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
